The function-packed menus can seem intimidating at first, but persevere and you'll soon figure out how everything works.CherryTree for Windows PC is a hierarchical note-taking program, featuring rich text and syntax highlighting, storing data in a single xml or SQLite file. Verdict:ĬherryTree is a very capable note-taking tool which can be used for everything from managing "to do lists" to maintaining code snippets. The program also works well with similar note-taking apps, though, importing data from EssentialPIM, Gnote, KeepNote, Mempad, TreePad, Zim and more, or exporting your documents to PDF, HTML or plain TXT. Although if you forget, that may not be a problem: a capable Search tool - with regular expression support - will quickly track down what you need.īy default CherryTree neatly saves you work as a single XML file or SQLite database, optionally password-protecting it to maintain your privacy. Important nodes may be bookmarked to help you find them later. And just about everything has its own keyboard shortcut for extra speed. Spell Check, subscript/ superscript, H1/ H2/ H3 toggling, case change commands, syntax highlighting for many common languages, there's a lot here (although Spell Check may have to be enabled from Settings > Rich Text). The core editor had many more features than we expected. This might be text notes, links, images, tables, lists, files and more, each with a host of formatting options. Each node is effectively a separate page where you can enter whatever content you like. You'll create a few "nodes" - folders on a tree - to represent some structure (1, 1a, 1b, 2, 2a, 2b, 2c etc). This works much like many similar programs. CherryTree is a hierarchical note-taking application for brainstorming, planning, creating to-do lists, managing tasks, and generally keeping yourself organised.

Live Backup You no longer have to exit the app in order for the backup to proceed. Features and Highlights PGP Encryption Support The program now supports PGP - create or import your PGP keys to send encrypted and signed e-mails. If you need more than two accounts (or if you need it for business use) you'll have to buy a premium version and trust me on this one: money spent on the tool will be money very well spent. It is free for personal use for up to two email accounts. The only downside is its higher memory usage (compared to the Thunderbird for example), but overall the latest version is an impressive email client with tons of features. This can be very useful and can save you a lot of time. Some of the nifty features are delayed (scheduled) email sending, full spell-checker, email templates and signatures, message encryption, and creating email groups that where you can add more people that you want to email at the same time. Searching is really fast and gives accurate results. You can have your Messages Panel on the left or at the bottom or disabled and in that case when you open a new message it will appear in a new window. The chat can be detached to a separate window if needed and it supports three major messaging services: Google Talk and Facebook and Jabber and offers file transfers. A left sidebar gives you access to your email accounts, calendar, tasks and contacts and that one is always visible while the right one can be hidden and you can use it to access contact details, agenda, and chat. The default "Modern" theme one is really good but you can change it according to your color preferences. The software comes with localization to 19 languages and 10 colorful themes. The user interface is very clean, modern-looking, customizable, and intuitive. |
